Microsoft Visio is used to draw organization charts, process workflows, and IT network diagrams. I started using Visio 3 years back where my ex-company required me to draw IT workflows. However, I ended up using Visio to do more things, such as drawing wireframes for websites.
Visio license can be costly, especially if you are subscribed for personal use. Most of us might only use Visio once in a while.
Fortunately, there are a few free online visio available. My favourite is Draw.io. I have yet to try Google Drawings.
- https://www.draw.io/ (Choose Save Diagram to Device)
Cons:
- If your browser crashes, so will you work. Remember to save your work from time to time.
- It is not as precise and convenient as Microsoft Visio.
There are also other online visio applications but most of them require you to register for a trial.
