Ever feel uncomfortable tagging someone’s full name in Microsoft Teams?

To send a notification, you will need to tag a colleague’s name in a group chat and team channel . However, when using @ symbol, followed by typing the name, Teams will display the full name in your message!

Here is a simple trick to mention the first name only. After tagging the name with @, enter backspace/return key. The name is still tagged and coloured, but last name will be hidden!

This could also apply when writing Outlook emails!
